Second Grade and Third Grade

 All students in grades K - 6 attend a computer class once a week. Throughout these grades, the emphasis is to teach computer skills which complement classroom curriculum. Students complete work and projects which reinforce a skill or a theme that is being taught in the classroom.

 Second and Third Graders expand their computer knowledge by learning the uses and limitations of computers. They are introduced to “kid – friendly” websites, how to navigate the sites, and how to decide if the site is useful. They learn what extensions like .com, .org, and .gov are, and how to decide if a site is credible. They will also create projects with Microsoft Word®, Puzzlemaker®, and with a variety of software.
