• What is a PDF file, and how do I read one? PDF stands for Portable Document Format.  It is a distribution format that allows electronic information to be transferred between various types of computers.  In order to view and print a PDF file you need some type of PDF reader.  Adobe Reader (the "original") is free.  Foxit, one of many alternative readers available, is also free.  It is much smaller to download, quicker to install, and quicker to open than Adobe.  To download Foxit, which is a 2.5 mb file, click here.  (It works best to SAVE the file first, then RUN it after saving) To download Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is over 50 mb, click here.
The most commonly referenced documents are the handbooks, shown below in PDF format.  Foxit, an efficient PDF document reader software program, can be downloaded here (approx 2.5 mb).
